1. Purpose and acceptance

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Gringo mobile application ("the App"), published by JULIEN FOLLIOT, a sole proprietorship (micro-entreprise) registered under SIREN number 903 180 669, with its registered office at 109 rue des bruyères, 92310 Sèvres, France.

Using the App, with or without an account, constitutes full acceptance of these Terms. Apple's standard End User License Agreement applies in addition.

2. Description of the service

Gringo is a mobile app for learning Brazilian Portuguese through short clips of real Brazilian speech, sourced from public YouTube channels. On top of each clip, the App provides a word-by-word transcription, an English translation, dictionary entries, and a review system that brings back the words the user keeps.

The App is educational. It does not guarantee any level of proficiency, and its content — real, everyday speech — may include slang and strong language.

3. Access and accounts

The App can be used without an account from the first launch. Creating an account is optional and keeps your progress across devices. The user undertakes to:

The user can delete their account at any time from the App. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and removes the user's progress.

4. Subscription

Free version. The App is free to download. Access to the clips and the review tools is limited to what the App indicates; these limits may change.
